Back in after very late session at Shoreham. Arrived at beach at 7:45, rigged and on sea by 8pm. 5.9m North Disco and JP freestyle 100lt. Comfortable planing from start to finish. Sailed almost 2 hours non stop. Packed up after 9:45pm. And the wind was still blowing nicely, could have pushed on, but had other things to do, as well as a concerned family back home!. It was better than Saturday, not least because it was mostly a solo mission, just me messing around. Wind was ample and side shore, but best of all, the ramps were much more frequent, sized 1-2 feet. For vulcan practise on the way out, you could guarantee a steep face somewhere, but not so large that you would bottle it. Just 6" was enough to boost the pop a bit. Had some quality full planing body drags and several beautiful new skool old school aeriel gybes. The freestyle board just flicks round in a little nose first jump, sweet as. A few little wave rides, tail sliding, spin gybes, snap gybes, carve gybes, duck gybes. What a session, its my first proper go in the light winds with the summer set up. Water was warm, air temperature ideal, it bodes well for a summer of freestyle. Bring it on.
